The Ciderhouse Rebellion (duo) open an evening of storytelling, contemporary ballet and spontaneous folk music. Words of A Fiddele’s Daughter join six dancers on the stage of Cecil Sharp House to tell the story of The Tears of Jenny Greenteeth – written by Jessie Summerhayes

A tale where love and forgiveness overcome fear, sadness and greed; where nature triumphs over industry.

This adaptation of the folk tale Jenny Greenteeth is written and narrated by poet Jessie Summerhayes. Adam Summerhayes (fiddle) and Murray Grainger (accordion) create uniquely magical music with an improvisatory focus – together the Trio is Words of A Fiddler’s Daughter.

The six dancers have worked collaboratively with director and choreographer Debbie Norris of Ballet Folk.

Profound and eloquent, epic, haunting and dramatic.
